I forgot to go to work today.. first time in 5 years. I got called at 2:30 "Where are you?".... embarassed, but I got there soon after.
Good thing too, for 2 reasons
1. Todd bought me 24 Hours!!! the new Tom Jones CD. He said it was as a thank you for helping him backup all the stuff from his completely dead laptop. I really appreciate it, and I honestly love the Cd. It's got that classic Tom Jones feel to it, but it's very up beat. The guy who 'made' Amy Winehouse directed Tom's new album, so it's got those types of instruments and sounds but the voice is all his. I'm Alive is probably my favorite song, but I love 24 hours too.
2. Richard came by my store. Richard is the guy who's trying to get me a job at the hospital. He told me today what position he's trying to give me, he told me that his manager has my name now and Richard's direct recommendation, and he told me what kind of pay to look forward to and what kind of job.
It'll be "Patient Access" at the Behavior Health facility on Randolph Road. Not the greatest area, but whatever, it's a new hospital facility and it has the latest tech and whatnot. I asked him about the Psych Tech position but he said it wasn't a good idea- it'd pay less and be much more difficult to acquire for someone just entering the system.
Richard told me a story of one of his good friends who joined the hospital the same time he did. She had a psych degree and graduated while still working for the hospital. within 2 months she was a counselor working under the hospital, traveling between schools and working with kids. It's kinda nice to hear stuff like that considering it'll be rough to get any job with a BA in psych.
Anyway, he told me to either expect a call soon for an interview or it'll happen closer to January/February. He said regardless I won't get officially hired until January since they're not gonna train new people during the holidays. He said it took them 4 months to hire him and he personally knew the recruiter.
3. Nothing else. I'm sort of sick. stuffy ears. Bleh.
