Video Games

It took me going back to work for me to admit it. See, before working again, I had almost no interest in really new games. I even stopped reading up on stuff that came out and making little lists for myself to buy cause I knew if I did that, i'd lose the little money I had as a bum. Now I work again, and David, one of my DS Brothers, gave up his DS during our time apart and moved up to a PSP... With that, I can admit that Nintendo is dead.


Lemme explain this, for those who care to listen. Nintendo has been going in the most dumbass direction since the Super Nintendo's run was over and done with. What Nintendo does is- Release a console that isn't excessive in any aspect (Even the 64 wasn't that much of a jump for PS1, infact, Lots of games between the two consoles ran Better on PS1 because of the CD storing more information and other things), Release a whole line of first party games, and then have their library increase by the few third party companies who feel like dealing with the limitations set by their consoles usually. Or, in the case of Capcom (and RE Series), spend a Whole Lot Of Money so people move to their console. Sure, it worked out well... but... Ok, lets use Nintendo's 2 greatest works as examples- Metroid and Zelda. It's all the Same Shit over again. Zelda games are fun, they're nothing special though, atleast Wind Waker was something inovative with the new graphics and better swordplay... but... what's this new one gonna bring? The same graphics as every other adventures game on the console and more of the same shit. Metroid too. The Prime series was pretty fresh, but unfortunatly between Prime 1, 2, and Hunters... It's all the same shit. And of course fusion, Zero Mission, and Super Metroid are identicle except for the stories. C'mon Nintendo, what the hell are you guys waiting for? Look at Mario Party, Mario Golf, or Mario Cart for christ sake! I mean, they're fun, ok, but... Shit. It's ALL The Same. How can they release 6 Mario Parties? no, 7. 8? Damn.

Ok, ok... that's not gonna kill nintendo. unfortunatly, most people like all that shit, or they get mad when something changes too much (Like Mario Sunshine) I appreciate Nintendo's attempts to do something crazy like that, and with Zelda too, but unfortunatly the customer is what matters, and majority of them don't like change as much as they should. What's gonna kill nintendo is the fact that they lost their strongest foundation- The Handheld. The Gameboy knocked the Fuck out of every other handheld Up Until the PSP came out. Neo Geo, Wonder Swan, GameGear, and all that stuff made by Tiger Electronics back when.... All dead, but now Sony does something Nintendo will NEVER Do. Take down the borders. Nintendo consoles never have room for modification, for computer connection, I mean.. The GameCube doesn't even have an effecient network thing going on, it's like they're too scared to let developers add internet connectivity to the games made for the console. And that's why the PSP destroyed the DS. The DS had Such Potential. But the PSP did something to beat that- it had Unlimited Potential. the PSP does, what I wish the DS would have done because it would have been the smartest idea Nintendo could have ever done, have the ability to update it's own software to prepare for new occations and to add more abilities to the console, And it takes Full advantage of the wireless network feature it has and even computer connectivity. I didn't know, if I had known I would have said the PSP is gonna win, that the PSP could connect to a Computer Network and use the internet from that to Not Only update itself, use special features in games, but to also Play Games Online.

The DS is dead. I sold mine. I didn't want to kindof, but I knew if I waited it'd just be worth less. I should have sold it to a friend or some kid who wasn't aware of the DS's downfall. After Metroid Hunters and Mario Cart come out, that thing is gone for good. Nintendo is gonna focus on GBA again, which is a cheap alternative to PSP (with more games)...but... Sony Won. And with that, Sony won everything. Microsoft can't make a handheld, so with the x-box 360 they're just gonna DIE once the PS3 comes out. Nintendo Revolution... It'll stay in the market, but the market will continue to shrink until it doesn't have enough money to support itself. The PSP has a good 5 year run ahead of it. I'm going to get a PSP... I was just gonna get a preowned one for 199 but I decided that's not a good idea sinc emy primary fear of the PSP is the burned out pixals. I'm just gonna wait a few paychecks and get a new one with some sort of warrenty. don't worry, i'm still paying my parents back for all the car stuff, about 100 a week, but the rest is going to the PSP for now. I just want something NEW to play. as I said above, i've been so... out of the new stuff, Dominique has been my source of new games like RE4 and MGS3. Today David showed me Metal Gear Acid and some other shooting game on the PSP, I love it, and I can't wait. Of course, like the DS, I'm not gonna hope my friends get them, but I will be bringing it to work and probably buying all the accessories I always do just to make it better.

The idea excites me, but I'm not gonna let it take me like games used to. I already lost the DS and everything, which I oddly don't regret since I never played it (beyond Zookeeper) and it'll be worth like 30 bucks in a month probably, but i'm not gonna.. lets say... trade in my rare games for enough money... and I'm definitly not gonna ask my parents to lend me more money... I'm gonna try to control my spending more this time around. After the PSP and the car payments are all done... I'm gonna start saving a lot more. I'm seriously gonna try to limit my video game spending this time, I might even get a blockbuster membership or something os I can just rent stuff. I hate renting stuff. But atleast I can rent instead of buying a game, loving it for a week, and then trading it in 4 months later for 1/10th the original value.


Yup.. so in.. 2 weeks? I should have a PSP. Maybe 3. See, I don't get a check until the Week After I worked. So I'll get my first one Next Friday, and so on and so forth. Unfortunatly I think I Already Have the money in my account, sinc eI got Direct Deposite, but I'm not letting myself check so I don't accidentally buy anything.

Nothing else new. I Almost worked Open-Close today, but David decided he didn't mind working afterall. I work Monday now too though. so it's Saturday 4-Close, Sunday 12-4, Monday 2-Close, Tuesday ... Open-5? Or was it 2-close... I forget... and I think I work thursday too but I forget. I have no idea when I'll have my car work done, probalby Wednsday and Thursday.. meaning.. I might not be able to see Dominique for the whole week! That sucks :( I can't believe I just made that face. Maybe if on Tuesday... i fI work open-5 I can convince whoever i'm working with to let me out at 3 or something (since it'll be DEAD) and I can see her! but.. i'm pretty sure I work 2-close. I'll figure something out. This is babbling. Goodbye and goodnight everyone!
