Nov. 25th, 2013 @ 06:58 pm NEW JOB!
I don't really post bad stuff on Facebook but today was Dominique's last day at Ally bank, they cut her contract early. I was also offered a job today that is a 25% paycut from my current job. but the contract will last longer and it's finally a switch to IT, so I ended up taking it.

Last year, this time, we made X amount of money.
On December 9th when I start this job, we will make 1/3rd that amount.

Ugh. But with that, it's an exciting time. We have a lot to learn and we'll be seeing how we can manipulate our lives to better suite the income change. In addition, I get to finally work in IT so I can see if I actually like it.

Sep. 29th, 2013 @ 12:50 am Those days go by
It's almost october! Crazy!

I found out my contract is extended into January. That's a good thing. Obviously having income is a priority if we like it or not.

Hopefully come January something else nice comes up. or really, hopefully something comes up in general. Unemployment isn't an option again.

I've actually been very social for the first time in forever. Kind of nice to get out of the house, 'hang out' with people, all that good stuff. 2 of the folks wanted to come with me to the TSO concert this year even though it was like 80 per ticket. That's really cool, different.

I'm seriously just trying to find a reason to write in here. I look back and what I used to write and most of it was just ranting. I rant on Facebook and receive instant feedback. I don't even know what I would look forward to on here anymore. The only communities I follow provide random pictures... that I post on facebook.

I've been writing little stories at work lately. Royel short stories. They're fun.

My job is, as usual, not consistent and while I thought it would end this week (or atleast be given notice) my boss told me otherwise at the last minute ("I think I have something for you!"). We'll see.

I'm building a new PC. Slowly, part by part, it'll be perfection. I'm excited. It'll be an absolute monsters while looking extra-slick :D

Um... I haven't posted here in forever. I almost feel uncomfortable doing it.

Jun. 2nd, 2013 @ 09:06 am Man.. It's hard to even come on here
I haven't posted in livejournal for a long time.
Maybe it's like the end of an age for me.

I do like it of course. I guess this is where I can drop in public updates that I don't share on FB.

Let's see.... job hunting because they fired my whole team recently :) And, of course, recruiting isn't my first career choice.

I'm going to see After Earth today regardless of the horrible reviews......... I bought my ticket last week :P

Um.... been watching anime again lately. Just finished "Another" and we're watching "The Devil works Part-Time" as it comes out.

Life is sort of boring...

Mar. 17th, 2013 @ 06:49 pm Moving!
My first time moving from one apartment to another in the same complex. It's .. strange and confusing how it all worked out, but all that matters is - we're moving in 2 weeks (the 29th) to our new apartment (instead of turning right when you come into the complex you turn left). Get get a few hundred more square feet but most importantly a garage. We'll see if we use the kayaks more if they're more accessible.

Just been playing games lately. Watched some movies, TV shows, whatever...

I have an antenna for my TV so I'm gonna try to watch Fox's cartoon lineup tonight. I haven't watched Simpsons in forever.

Mar. 1st, 2013 @ 12:13 am Stuff Happens.
My birthday was recently. I got a few cool games from Dominique and went out to eat three times :P It was a good day, except for my ill.

And I'm still a little ill. so is dominique. So are most of my coworkers.

I've just been playing games. Since christmas, where dominique got me a ton of games, I've just been catching up. And I just about had when I got a new load of gifts for my Birthday.

And then next week is the new Naruto game, and then God of War, and then everything else...

I guess I'll at least be distracted for a while.

At work I get to do a college hiring thing. It's something I've sort of always wanted to do in recruiting so I'm glad I'll get the chance. It'll be busy work though... but I guess it's better than the last few weeks of boring work.

Feb. 11th, 2013 @ 08:05 pm wow I haven't posted in a while...
.... Well I still work at the same place, I still play video games as my hobby, and I've been doing INSANITY for the last month.

That about sums everything up. I'm not thinner from Insanity, but my endurance has actually gone up. I like the Fit Tests they have you do.

I had an idea and dream follow up last night where I was in a office, it was really spacy with concrete floors and lots of glass. Rico and Bryan were there, working on stuff. We were a 3 man video game making team. I did marketing and business stuff.

Then there was sushi and I was naked or something later...

But it was a nice dream.

I bought a new TV stand at IKEA. I'm trying to get rid of the old one but no one wants it. :( I always liked it. We got a new one that's a bit lower because 3d media is a little hard to take in when you're lower or higher than the TV.

Yup.. Not much going on and not much coming up... Just being comfortable, going day to day, and trying to stay happy. It's pretty quiet these days.

Jan. 25th, 2013 @ 07:37 am Falling back into comfort
I had a recruiter call me yesterday about a tech support job.
By the end of the conversation he asked if he could send me his resume for a job at Wells.

I guess the thing is when I worked at Genesis as a recruiter I left there swearing I wouldnt' be a recruiter again because it just didn't work for me.

Now at Wells I actually love my job. I stayed till 7pm on Wednesday and till 6 yesterday not because anyone told me or because I even got recognition, it was because I wanted to finish a job.

I guess a big difference is in my old job I was constantly told to do things simply to be busy. At Wells everything I do is because it's relevant work that needs to be done.

That alone changed a lot.

Dec. 23rd, 2012 @ 08:13 am I install lights.
Merry Christmas. With how much space I put in between each entry I probably won't post again till after Christmas or the New Year.

Dominique and I decided to open most of our presents early, on Friday, so we could play with them for our 4 day weekend. Santa got her a new computer, basically, and some games. Watching her play Farcry 3 yesterday was incredible. I gotta try that one day.

Santa got me the Killzone trilogy and the Sharpshooter accessory. That's a solid piece of hardware. Takes a minute to get used to, but I'm trying to play Killzone 1 without it and I wish I could use it, but at first I played Killzone 3 with it and I kept looking at the floor or ceiling. I'll get the hang of it. I know folks who play online with it tend to... kill me fast.

Oh, and a new Pillow. Tried it last night, no neck pains. Awesome.

We're gonna see my sister today for a minute to get some Panthers tickets from her, then we're going to do a tradeoff to Dominique's dad. Not an intentional Christmas gift, but I know he'll appreciate going today. It was originally offered to Dominique and I but we're not the biggest football fans (She's not the biggest, I don't know anything about anything at all). I'm glad they'll go to someone who otherwise wouldn't be able to go but who is a big enough fan that it will make their weekend.

Then I'm going to install a new light in my living room. I installed one in the office and it feels like such an accomplishment that I want to do it again.

Dec. 9th, 2012 @ 03:27 pm My favorite season!
So far this season I saw the Trans Siberian Orchestra in concert, I went to some historic old village and had people re-enact historic scenes, I saw Rise of the Guardians (It's Christmas enough for me), and of course I bought gifts.

I'll be honest, that part excites me. I never really expect to receive anything, I always do, but I have no idea or feeling about what I want for Christmas prior to Christmas.

Insane game season coming up after Christmas -
Southpark Stick of Truth, God of War Ascension, Injustice, Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (I might cancel that preorder, the gameplay wasn't that fun), Deadspace 3 (Not going to preorder that), Crysis 3 (Can't even play that, haha), Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite... and a bit later in the year - The Last of Us.

For the gamer side of me that's pretty exciting. Not to mention this week Capcom is releasing a free copy of Megaman Vs Street Fighter on their website.

Work has been interesting lately, I've pushed myself out of the senior recruiter role that I had put on me the last few weeks, dealing with vendor management and stuff like that. After this Wednesday I'll be back to going to work, putting my head down, and working for 8 hours. As boring as that sounds, that's what I want to do right now. The other kind of work I take home with me and I don't want that right now.
