| Today in Anthropology my teacher dived into religion. No big deal, right? We've already had to accept evolution exists to pass the first test so there should be no issues placing terms on well known religions figures. Wrong. My teacher defined Moses as a Shaman, not by choice but because a student asked what he would be defined as by anthropologists. 2 separate people made the exact same statement, 10 minutes apart, because the teacher took so long trying to get it through the first ones head what she meant. They both seriously said, and I'm quoting them, "The bible clearly states that Moses was a prophet". Ok, well Prophet was not on the list, visions are specific to shamans. You're either a Shaman or a Priest as far as anthropologists are concerned, they're group terms. "But that's how the bible had it written" "But God wants them to be called Prophets (seriously)" "This goes against my religion" ... I have geology next semester. I promised I would never take another 1000 or 2000 level class after anthropology and sociology of marriage due to how a lot of younger class-men can't handle the information. I'm taking geology because I'm just scared my adviser might not be right about one of my science requirement things (if psychology, since i'm a psych major, will still cover one of my sciences, they say yes but my degree evaluation said no) so I'm taking it Just to be safe. Anyway, it's 1000 level. When I signed up for it I was 1 seat out of 120 because no one else who would take the class could even sign up yet. Lots of freshmen. I don't look forward to that aspect of next semester though everything else is BA. Saw Matt, Bryan, and Korey today. Also saw Rico and Ashley before then. Black Friday stuff is all set up (Rico's GF, Ashley, will actually be working with me. I'm her ride home). I open at 12am till 6am and then I come back in at 1pm to 9pm. Crazy day. Excited though. I do have Sunday off again. I believe I'll be heading to Greensboro again unless I have objections. I'm determined to 'make' something with this trip if at all possible. If anything is uncool about my plans please let me know. | |||

| Apple can and will deny warrenty coverage of your mac product if they can tell you smoke. Apparently smoking voids thier warrenty. Not kidding, found that funny, especially considering the demographic they target. I'm sure now that it has been brought to national attention (well, atleast internet attention) they might re-do their warrenty statement (though it currently doesn't mention smoking from what I understand). They claim the tar from the cigarettes destroys the computer. Went to the green burrito yesterday. I ate lunch with Jessica for 2 and a half hours (The food was gone in the first 30 minutes). Had a lot to catch up on. I also learned the entire premise of Twilight, I appreciate knowing this now cause if I ever really want to crush a fan I now know the ending in its entirety. Hung out with Derek, Emily, and S-Man the remainder of the time (and about half an hour prior). I was the emporer in a steampunk photo shoot (Emporer being whatever I want it to be at that moment and at that moment all I did was hit the button). We sat around and talked for a while and watched good portions of Mad Max and Mad Max 2. Aliens was on when I got there. I feel like we did more but honestly we just pretty much hung out. It was just a fantastic hang-out day in Greensboro. ... I'm writing this from the sign language lab. I just finished an assignment really fast so now i'm goofing off before class. | Went to Asheville yesterday... Fun drive, honestly, but the event ended up costing 15 dollars. I could have attended if I really wanted to but 15 dollars More, after a 4 hour drive (there and back) for a 2 hour conference that gives me like.. 2 1/2 points added to my final grade (though technically a required assignment). F-That, sorry. Best part is I actually emailed the host of the event about a month ago and asked him what we need to bring along, if anything, and he replied "Interest and a willingness to learn" or something along those lines. But, I hung out with Candace up there. Her house is ridiculous, wish I had brought a regular camera cause I would have taken pictures. Anyway, home now, going to school in a second (and I'm taking my hamster to a vet). Work later. Work tomorrow till 7. Sunday Free. What's Greensboro up to? I'm in the mood to seeing some friends again but most people around here work Sundays from what I've collected. If up to not much or nothing at all, let me know, I'll probably run by. Helen throws up whenever you give her food outside her norm. I wish my father would understand this. Yesterday morning I woke up to about 5 piles of vomit. Last night I walked around and collected the vomit as Helen threw up. He bought her a big ol' box of wet food and keeps feeding her and she keeps throwing up. Problem is it's a waste of food to just throw it away so I don't know what to do with the rest of the food.. I just know she's not getting it. She's no longer scared of my bed. I can tell you this because she laid on my head last night and purred and I woke up with her on the other pillow. I don't mind but after the long drive followed by the throw-up spell last night I wish I could have just taken some medication and been out cold. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANMrzw7J Good Chrome OS demo video released yesterday (or today, I forget). It'll be a completely web based Operating system, similar to the unix based ones a lot of net books carry (not referring to the net books that come with Linux). The OS looks Just like the browser, sort of crazy. I'll totally get the beta once it comes out, i'll probably fix up my laptop again and pop it on there. | |||

| What to talk about... ... Still trying to find 1 more class at UNCC. Technically the schedule is where I want it now but I have 1 BS class I don't really want.. it's some Health.. class? It's at an awkward time and it doesn't sound fun, just easy. Unfortunately my options are Incredibly limited and not even in the standpoint of classes being filled- nothing was offered. Who remembers Wouldyouhitthis.com? I could waste months just clicking through sites like that. I finally watched the family guy 2 part episode where they thought Louis died (Stewie killed her). That was incredible. The girl next to me has Bright green make-up around her eyes. My boss is going to use some of my music for the christmas thing this year. I'm gonna still make my own mix probably but I'm gonna give him all of TSO's best 'christmasy' songs. ... you know, Clifton might be on Campus. While i'm waiting on Domy I might go see if I can find him sitting somewhere. *edit* After everything was said and done I was able to acquire assassin's creed 2 for 25 bucks off amazon and that's out of pure coupons, not a single dollar of trade in cash or anything. So, yeah, grabbed it. I'll probably have it in about 2 weeks, or right on Black Friday. | |||

| After looking into actual gameplay footage from Assassin's Creed 2 I'm a bit impressed. 3 things caught my eye 1- Sincerely advanced sneak system. You don't need monks, you can blend in among regular town folks. Also, many ways to take out missions even to the extent of riling up other locals to distract whatever is keeping you from your objective. 2- Tons of items now. No more 4 weapons and no other advancement. You can buy new armor and weapons and it changes how you look. Not really that important but it ads another objective to the game which seems fun. 3- You can swim. Not that important but it Pissed me the F- Off in Assassin's creed 1. I'm not buying it when it comes out, plus Domy is borrowing my PS3 for a while cause I'm sick of video games at the moment, but I am interested. | |||

| That last round of COD6 was the first time I ever got the acknowledgment for getting most head shots in a round. This is weird for 2 reasons- 1, I have shot less bullets than I have stabbed people in total. 2- I have very bad accuracy. guess I just got lucky. I'll probably be lending my ps3 to Domy so I can get some stuff done... I work today from open to close. Originally I only worked half that but I requested for all of it because- well, why not. The day is already gone. I'll be in Asheville Thursday for a deaf conference thing. I went to a deaf lunch at northlake the other night. talk about awkward silences. ha. Yup... I'll be preparing for work OH!!! Moral woke up and it was cute. Know what I like about P90X? the host, though crazy, is not stupid. No one on there is a Triangle, they're all square- as in, evenly worked out. I just did Ab Ripper X, it's the shortest one by far (at only 15 minutes, average being 1hr) but it's probably the hardest packed into that 15 minutes. At the end he says don't do this every day and don't do this if you're not working other muscles. It's pointless. Ya know, "Thank You" is what I wanted to say back. All these god damn programs made exclusively for abs, probably work outs half as demanding as his, and following the trend I'm sure an abs-only program would cost the same amount as an everything program like P90x. Whoo! time to go to work. | |||

| Night Castle by Trans-Siberian Orchestra deserves its own entry. Jesus Christ this stuff is Good. Even if you don't like Christmas, go acquire the album some how if you simply like Rock music. This album is way heavier than their previous albums, it's Way more like Savatage. This is incredible. Oh my god, I'm about to Die. hehe, the ol' boys updated their website after.. like.. 9 years of inactivity http://www.savatage.com/ That song during the intro is Chance I think. God I wish I had the money/time to go see them in Greensboro next-next Wed. *edit* I almost cried. "Believe" on Night Castle is a remake of Savatage's song Believe. Listen to Savatage's version. Then imagine 10 years passing of that being one of the most inspirational and important songs in your life. And then listen to the new one. Yeah, I almost cried. | |||

| I saw Spidey today at Target. Spidey was a Freshman when I was a junior in Highschool. He was a nice kid but Berry definitely didn't treat him well. Outside of the friend group with me I think he felt alienated by most of the student body, but he was also part of a terrible class of students (his grade, that is). Anyway. Boy is Married right now to a pretty mixed girl. Works as an automotive technician (I think he said) at some... place... firestone? I don't know. He lives at those fancy brick apartments over the second Tony's Pizza (Red Robin, IBM drive). Son of a gun. I got his real name, 'facebooked' him as they say. Not saying I'm gonna hang out with him, truth is I honestly won't (How often do I hang out with people?) but it's good to keep up. It's good to see his life progressing so smoothly. I'm genuinely happy for him and his little girlfriend... who's name I forgot Again though I asked her at least 5 times. Debbie? Debra? something in that family. I wonder if he's still a Jehovah's Witness. Finally grabbed Trans-Siberian Orchestra's new album "Night Castle" (castlevania) off Zune. I'm in the mood now, I love this shit. I feel constantly Epic. I'm getting all the rest of their albums as I write this and I've deleted everything else off my zune. The holidays have (be)gun! | |||

|---|---|---|---|
| Yesterday should have been a terrible day- 1. Registering for classes would have likely left me without my capstone (considering they were all completely full by the time I woke up so at 11am when I could register there was no chance I could get'em) 2. My brakes are really F-ed up, I need new breaks pronto but I'm broke. Domy leant me some money but my brother in law learned that rotars for my car are incredibly expensive so it would be over 100 bucks for the whole job. 3. Test in Orsen Welles by a really stingy teacher that's way too into it. ( And how did it turn out?+ Very long entry about nothing ) | |||

| Call of Duty 6... ( Of course I have a lot to say ) http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/mon-n Clip from John Stewart last night (i think)... pretty funny. stupid call of duty, I was actually hoping to get some stuff done today but it consumed me! Well, I probably shouldn't do p90x today anyway considering how sore I am all over. Pathetic. I wish it wasn't raining like crazy cause i'd go running before class. no, seriously, I would. I feel like it after running around so much in COD6. My mom stole my laundry from me and did it. I feel terrible about this, I was going to come home, do that, and clean up a bit. Unfortunately she sort of did both for me before I even got home. She may start attending school at King's College for nursing.. we'll see, I sort of hope she keeps her eyes open and finds potentially a program more suitable for her (really, a nurse for a JW?). by the way, her and I had the argument to end all arguments about religion in the house. It ended with her silently sitting there with absolutely nothing to come back at me with. It was pure guilt poured onto her. Words and phrases like "Prosecuted" (by Christians) and "hate Organization" were spoken and I just straight up said for once- I don't care about god. I'm not an atheist, I'm not a christian, I'm nothing. I don't care. If god is real or not does not effect my daily life therefor it is of no concern. I have no place to make an opinion because ultimately it just doesn't matter in my life. At first she didn't like this but I explained very well why I feel (or don't feel) as I do and ultimately it seemed like she accepted it... though, I fear, this won't be the end. | |||

| http://www.smbc-comics.com/ Instead of posting a link to todays comic directly I'm posting a link to one of my favorite online webcomics (yes, along with Sinfest and Monday night Crew). Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal updates daily and you never know what to expect except a good time. And good times were had today with this comic about the Evolutionist. This made me giggle big time. I'm Sore as hell. P90X works. Now, if I just keep it up I'll be able to slay dragons with my bare hands. I'm nervous.. tomorrow, this time (exactly) I'll be able to register. Wish me luck gumshoes. | |||

| P90X is wicked. And I mean both definitions. Evil and Awesome. Today I tried doing Core Synergistics (yeah, I got the whole thing)... I'm so out of shape I was drenched in sweat, urine, and blood by the end of the 7 minute warm-up. Absolutely no exaggerating there. I honestly felt like I was working out more during the one I did with Derek and Aldon but the core one is obviously very important. I swear if you were to do one of these videos every day for 2 weeks (it's 12 videos) you would At least lose 5-10 pounds and you'd feel stronger in some form. Honestly though, one video every 2 days sounds more reasonable to the regular human being. Though the program calls for you to do 6 days in a row with the 7th day being one of rest or at most stretching (I actually read the documents that came with it first) Obviously it's easy to acquire these videos and if they claim after 90 days you'll be a superhero it may be worth it. Lets see how many days I can keep it up, haha. In other news I fought the second boss of Demon's Souls. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyOa9_jN Right before I began fighting him I lost my network connection so no player hints or death scenes were usable. I died... i'll try again later. | |||
| Nov. 9th, 2009 @ 12:24 am Demon's Souls | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| I know this is not worth a post but I am proud of myself. I beat the first boss in Demon's Souls. I died at least 20 times on the first level. Primarily reason I had so much trouble is because I thought the game was Solid, in the sense that if you can't walk over it than you can't get over it and if there is an obstacle you just need to find a way around it. Not quite. Reality is the game lets you jump over ledges and some obstacles revolve around timing (which was a bit odd for the type of gameplay) but hey, it was my fault for underestimating the game. First boss was Weird. Honestly way easier than I thought but primarily because other players had left useful hints around the room. I'm totally loving the game though. The satisfaction of beating the boss combined with the ability to (finally) upgrade my stats. I got my luck and strength really high... This game completely redefines what every stat is (imagine, a game where dexterity has nothing to do with speed or accuracy). Anyway, that aside, I saw Derek today (and Emily and Aldon). It was a pretty good time. I may start trying a workout thing I saw them doing, P90X. We'll see about it though, definitely requires some determination. I also got to climb a wall, explore a abandoned textile mill, and shoot a BB gun. I may buy a BB gun. I also should probably head to a shooting range some time, feels like it may be some type of hidden desire I've always had. | |||
| Nov. 8th, 2009 @ 03:27 am Hm... | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| I was all planning on going to Greensboro tomorrow and stuff... But it happens to be 3:30am... ... Well, to be honest, we'll just see how this turns out. I've wasted way too much time doing miscellaneous stuff and I didn't even get any video games out of it all. ha. ... and, i'll be going to bed Now. If I wake up and feel up to it I go, if I wake up and don't feel up to it I don't go, and if I don't wake up then I'll be there in my dreams. Whoo! | |||
| Nov. 6th, 2009 @ 11:44 pm Demon's soul | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| First impression- The game is everything they said it was. It's hard but fair. The online part is interesting, I'm surprised what good sports most players are. Most 'hints' I find on the floor say genuine stuff like "A dude is about to sneak up on you, be careful!" and "They throw fire, dodge!". The blood stains that let you see the last 15 seconds of peoples lives are not as useful, example being that about 80% of them are of people falling off ledges. In the regular game areas that's not the case so much but in the Nexus, the place you go to so you can teleport around and get new equipment, yeah.. that place people like jumping off the tallest balcony. Gameplay... Combat is a bit rough. Unfair, absolutely not, but fact is it's as easy to kill an enemy as it is for one to kill you. You still take damage even when you block with your shield, and though there is an efficient counter system your timing has to be Right the fuck on, nothing like Assassin's Creed where you didn't have to swing a sword again once you learned how to counter. You have a stamina bar that'll be completely drained after 4 swings or 2 power swings or 3 parrys. It refills just as quickly but that means you can't just melee someone to death really fast, you'll pause and they'll hit you once you do. I'm genuinely liking it. The visuals are pretty breathtaking honestly. They put a decent amount of detail into the environment and enemies. I really enjoy the character creation, especially the concept of a 'Sex Meter' That's right, you don't have to say Male or Female, you can slide the bar toward either, making your character have more masculine features or more feminine ones. I must say, that's a first, and yes you can put it right in the middle. I obviously maxed out my manliness, haha. Though, I can see it getting a bit frustrating.. it's Easy to die. You don't lose equipment only souls... from what I can tell. Souls are like exp or money, so your weapons and skills both rely on them. You get to come back in spirit form (half hp) to find your own blood stain to get the souls back but that's no easy quest... As far as how you regain physical form I'm not too sure about... Probably has something to do with collecting enough souls. | |||
| Nov. 5th, 2009 @ 08:09 pm I made it! | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| Actually I made it and then it disapeared. I made a video, ready for publishing (though, honestly, I rushed it and just cut up everything) but... power director froze when i clicked the' Divx' icon (to publish in that format). I didn't even tell it to publish, I just wanted to check what resolutions that one allowed, and it froze.. lost everything (in the past it began freezing when I tried to save on the laptop)... so.. yeah, though I like the software it's both too heavy and too unstable to use. I'm unable to find a copy of Premier Elements and since Corel video studio doesn't support Mpeg4 it's useless for me. I'm going to try Pinnacle studio. ... I need to find my tripod.. I couldn't use 90% of the video I recorded today because it was just too shaky. I wish there were points when I could have just set the camera down and recorded a 'scene'. | |||
| Nov. 5th, 2009 @ 09:37 am what is that in your mouth?! | |||

| Applied for another hospital job.. this time as a psych tech. Wish me luck. CMC is pretty convenient, I typed in my user name and it just made me answer maybe 15 multiple choice questions and I was done. My recommendations and everything else I put in their system last time was still there. ( Test in child psych ) So Amazon had a thing going... spend 80 you get 40 dollars back on game purchases. I only paid attention to this because I was going to buy a 40 dollar game and I thought "well I could get a game I really want, another game, and this game for 80" That game I really wanted being Demon's Soul and the 40 dollar game being CrossEdge. Well, so I bought Demon's Soul and Sonic's Genesis Collection for the ps3- 80 bucks exactly at time of purchase. I attempted to find a second game that I would actually play and I figure that collection is pretty awesome. got my 40 bucks but Cross-Edge was pulled out of print. seriously. I could still buy it for roughly the same price but the coupon only works if the vendor is Amazon. So I decided to get Call of Duty 6 (modern warfare 2) with the 40 bucks and I spent 20. Funny thing is COD6 comes with another 20 dollar game coupon. It's an endless cycle. I'll probably get the God Of War collection with that one (it's a 35 dollar game) and let the vicious cycle end there. Sucks those coupons have expiration dates and that they only work on games. but anyway, I'll be playing COD6 way sooner than expected and pretty excited about hopping online with that game. Also, it has split screen co-op missions, should also be fun. I should get Demon's Soul very soon. I'm excited about this game as well. Apparently it's a cross between games like Oblivion and Zelda as if square enix, Bethesda, and Blizzard never actually existed. As in, it's unique. You have the giant boss fights of Zelda, a deep leveling system I could only compare to oblivion, and a the type of game play that makes you be very careful because if you die in a dungeon you lose everything you had on you, including experience, and if you die as you're running back trying to get the stuff back than it's gone forever. It also has the very unique online feature where you'll randomly see 'ghosts' of other players in the last 15 seconds of their life (actual players mind you) in order to aid you in avoiding dangers and traps. Supposedly you can also get so powerful that you can intrude into other high level people's games and kill them to steal their souls, that might be where I have to draw the line at loving the idea, but I could imagine it being fantastic to whoop someone's ass coming to steal your souls and taking theirs instead. | |||
| Nov. 3rd, 2009 @ 11:13 pm Ideas | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| I have ideas. I'm full of fucking ideas I just lack the motivation to implement any of them. But after watching "Up" I'm filled with a desperation to begin doing 'something' with all my ideas. Up was fantastic, but it was a tear jerker that makes want to accomplish everything you have ever set out to do. Anyway, my most recent and easiest to implement idea is for a series of 4 photos showing a series of events leading up to the murder of a gentleman by a young attractive woman. Though the photos will show a progression of events each photo will depict the man as helpless (or ignorant to what's going on (only applies to the first pic) and the woman as ruthless but in each a different way. I've already asked the young lady who I can imagine being the star of this series and she seems down with it, I'm willing (and I think I want) to be the murdered man, now all I need is a Photographer and a certain location to take these photos. Fake blood too, but that's for later. Anyway, my obvious choice would be Derek for this but he just 'might' turn this one down so I'm putting an open call out to all my would be photographer friends. (I'll talk to you about this when I see you next, Derek, to see if you are interested). This was thought of before Halloween but not put into motion until Halloween itself (when I saw up). As far as the location is concerned I'm looking for an older building for the set. I need a large Window that a photo can be taken through that will allow the camera to see both a doorway on the inside And the area infront of the doorway (as in, around the building, not also through the window)... Hard to explain, wish I could draw it (btw my tablet broke again). I'll keep my eye out. This will be my first bit on the new Project Royel site. New, yes, new, because it's happening Now. | |||

I had to post Something, it's been too long, so I grabbed the footage from my fight with Avery, cut it up really fast, and made this. I personally think it's hilarious. I know the mouths don't match up (could have fixed this but with the speed this computer runs Power Director it would have taken another half-hour) but I love how my attitude completely changes after every loss and for the first two you can hear me put the controller down after I lose. Reactions are gold. | |||
